Rooftops of Grapevine Canyon

Stucco towers, chimneys and red tile roofs of Scotty's Castle rise from the Grapevine Canyon oasis in northern Death Valley.

The mansion was never finished; work stopped in February 1931 with the castle about 20% incomplete.
